Running for the Few 80 miles for the 80th Anniversary

This summer a small group of us will be paying tribute to the corageous ‘Few’, in this 80th Anniversary year, by running 80 miles around previous Battle of Britain airfields and signficant locations.

We will run between 15 locations in just 5 days, starting at IWM Duxford and ending at Capel-le-Ferne, the National Memorial to the Few, clocking up our 80-mile total.

The purpose of this challenge is to raise awareness of the Battle of Britain in this significant Anniversary year, the inspirational aircrew known as the ‘Few’, the various locations themselves – as well as fundraise for both the National Memorial to the Few and the Kent Battle of Britain Museum.

I am truly grateful and must also say an enormous thank you to all the locations who have been so incredibly supportive and willing to accommodate us on our challenge. Below are the details of the locations and we will be runinng:

Leg 1 – Duxford – Fowlmere – Debden (18.7 miles)
Leg 2 – North Weald – Hornchurch, Biggin Hill – Kenley (25.5 miles)
Leg 3 – Uxbridge Bunker – Northolt – Bentley Priory (12.6 miles)
Leg 4 – Westhampnett – Tangmere (5 miles)
Leg 5 – Manston – Hawkinge – Capel le Ferne (25.5 miles)
